to shuri castle we go

OMG!! He's holding up the entire castle! :-D

One of the best things about Japan are the hundreds of castles in varying stages of ruin-- giving the country a slightly mystical feel, as if stuck between the past and the present. 
Which, well, if you've been to Japan, then you know it actually kind of is.

Shuri castle and the neighboring park are gorgeous. 
However, much of it is currently undergoing renovations, thus the so few pictures. :-(
We'll go again sometime.
