How to describe beaches in Japan--windy, rocky, slightly other worldly...

When I first discovered I'd be living half of the time in Okinawa, I thought "Cool, Japan, Baby!" Then I did a little research on Okinawa and found out it's a beach kinda place. Ugh! I already spent most of my life in one of the most beachy places, the Florida Gulf Coast. Luckily, Okinawa's beaches surprised me. They are absolutely NOTHING like the Gulf Coast...I like Okinawa's better. Much more interesting, more beautiful, and prone to inspire adventurous imaginings.

Maeda Cape makes for some amazing textures and a fantastically gorgeous pics.
Just remember...
Wear protective shoes, you know,  like combat boots, if you decide to visit.
Or the razor rocks will get you.
