Here's a few pics from our first day in Kyoto, Japan. The first picture sums it up, blurry and rainy with areas of bright color. Though the majority of the city is similar to most other cities, the fact that their are these lovely, amazingly well kept, historic temples and shrines everywhere and randomly throughout makes the city a bit dreamlike. Must go back, there is so much more to see. And of course, I wore my lucky Franco shirt again.
"RooooaaarrrRRRRRR!!!" Said the lion. Oh my! Who is this cutie?!! :-P OMG!! He's holding up the entire castle! :-D One of the best things about Japan are the hundreds of castles in varying stages of ruin-- giving the country a slightly mystical feel, as if stuck between the past and the present.
Which, well, if you've been to Japan, then you know it actually kind of is. Shuri castle and the neighboring park are gorgeous. However, much of it is currently undergoing renovations, thus the so few pictures. :-( We'll go again sometime. ~AM~ How to describe beaches in Japan--windy, rocky, slightly other worldly...
When I first discovered I'd be living half of the time in Okinawa, I thought "Cool, Japan, Baby!" Then I did a little research on Okinawa and found out it's a beach kinda place. Ugh! I already spent most of my life in one of the most beachy places, the Florida Gulf Coast. Luckily, Okinawa's beaches surprised me. They are absolutely NOTHING like the Gulf Coast...I like Okinawa's better. Much more interesting, more beautiful, and prone to inspire adventurous imaginings. Maeda Cape makes for some amazing textures and a fantastically gorgeous pics. Just remember... Wear protective shoes, you know, like combat boots, if you decide to visit. Or the razor rocks will get you. ~AM~ (Denim jacket~had for years so don't remember <> Sequined tunic~ebay<> Scarf~a gift <> Harem pants~ebay <> Boots~vintage Ariat, get more vintage at our vintage shop Frankie Marie Vintage by Rehcy) |
